Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the yolks with the sugar and the vanilla sugar until creamy. Break the chocolate into pieces in a saucepan which you will place at the entry of an open low oven. When melted, allow to cool a little, then add to the egg-sugar mixture. Add the coffee, combine well, add the chopped walnuts and the diced candied fruits. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Fold into the dough with a spatula. Lightly butter and flour a tube pan. Fill with the dough up to 1/2 inch from the edge. Bake in a low oven (300F) for 40 minutes. Turn out warm and serve sprinkled with confectioner╒s sugar.
